Abby Monnot, Vice President of Marketing, Avery Dennison, talks to L&NW about what to expect at the industry's most popular event.
Released By Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials
September 4, 2026
With LOUPE Americas approaching, Avery Dennison will showcase multiple innovations at Booth #119. Converters can experience the solutions firsthand and schedule a consultation with the company’s technical experts here.
L&NW sat down with Abby Monnot, Vice President of Marketing, Avery Dennison, to unpack what converters can expect on the show floor.
AM: The theme is really about showing our visitors what becomes possible when labels and intelligent materials work as one system rather than separate products. We organized the booth around five segments our customers serve every day: food, logistics, pharma, wine and spirits, and industrial.
Instead of a static product wall, visitors move through interactive stations that connect a real brand or sustainability challenge to a specific solution.
AM: AD Fusion is a first-of-its-kind program built specifically to remove the traditional barriers to entry. Historically, moving into smart labels meant significant capital investment, dedicated presses, and specialized inlay insertion equipment. That put RFID out of reach, or tied production to a single facility, for many converters. AD Fusion changes that.
Powered by our SmartFace™ technology, it delivers customizable materials with RFID inlays already embedded, arriving as custom slit rolls that are ready to print and convert. There’s no new machinery and no additional training required, because it integrates directly into most existing workflows. The inlays are ultra-thin, so the labels keep the look and performance of a standard label.
For a converter, that means you can enter or scale the smart label market quickly and cost-effectively to solve the needs of your customers.
AM: Cold, wet, and frozen environments are where conventional adhesives tend to fail. They lose grip on chilled or condensation-prone surfaces, which leads to label failures and unhappy end customers. Anchor AT™ is a new hot-melt adhesive engineered specifically for those conditions. It delivers strong, reliable low-temperature adhesion, and it holds firm on the damp and difficult substrates common in refrigerated meat, cheese, beverage, and freezer-grade applications.
Compared to our own C4510 adhesive, it offers 3-times stronger initial adhesion at 0°F – making it the superior choice for even the most demanding cold-temperature environments. Available with both paper and film facestocks, it allows converters to match each job to the right surface and finish while standardizing on a single adhesive – reducing inventory complexity and simplifying changeovers.
While some hot-melt adhesives are known to cause buildup and costly press downtime, Anchor AT™ is designed for fast, clean converting, which means cleaner rolls, less equipment buildup, and less downtime on-press. For a converter serving food customers, that combination of dependable performance and clean operation is exactly what builds confidence.
AM: AD CleanGlass™ is a new wash-off adhesive developed in direct response to growing demand for reusable glass packaging and the sustainability targets our customers’ brands are working toward. At the show, we’re spotlighting the new portfolio, which includes a selection of premium facestocks from our wine and spirits portfolio. The adhesive allows for easy, clean label removal from glass bottles in a conventional bottle washer at 80 degrees Celsius. That clean removal is the critical detail, because it optimizes the environmental benefits of reusable glass and supports circular packaging models between reuse cycles.
For converters serving the wine and spirits segment, this opens a genuine opportunity to offer brand customers a premium look with a reuse-ready solution, without asking them to compromise on shelf appeal or performance.
The OCC-E certified VI materials tackle a key challenge in paper and cardboard recycling. These labels are the first of their kind to pass both parts of the OCC-E certification, awarded by Western Michigan University and developed by the Fibre Box Association and the American Forest & Paper Association.
Engineered to break down safely during recycling screening, these materials support a higher yield of usable fiber, boosting the circular economy. Together, these innovations give converters a practical way to support customers across glass reuse and paper recycling streams – advancing circularity without sacrificing label performance or quality.
AM: In pharmaceutical applications, precision and patient safety are non-negotiable. Our UV Barrier solutions are designed to meet these exacting standards, offering a range of high-opacity paper and film constructions, as well as a clear overlaminate film that blocks 95% harmful UV rays without compromising visibility. This unique combination of protection and usability safeguards UV-sensitive biologic drugs, helping to preserve their safety and effectiveness throughout their lifecycle.
AM: The expert sessions are one of the most valuable parts of the experience, because every converter’s challenges are specific. We invite attendees to book time with our technical and sustainability experts for practical, tailored guidance, whether that’s selecting the right facestock and adhesive combination for a difficult application, or thinking through a customer’s sustainability requirements.
Extended Producer Responsibility legislation is a major focus across North America. Certain states are mandating post-consumer recyclate minimums and EPR eco-modulation, and regulators worldwide are moving to enforce producer responsibility. That has real implications for converters and brands.
Our experts can help make sense of what these regulations mean for material choices and design decisions, so converters walk away with a clear path forward. Our goal, as always, is to help our customers turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s competitive advantage.
